First of all, you'll need a connection to the internet. Since you're reading this guide, we can safely say that you probably have one. Furthermore, it is highly recommended that you have a broadband connection, although you may use dial-up. When searching the Radio-DB for radio stations, we have included the ability to search for stations within your bandwidth criteria (stream bitrate). If you have dial-up, simply select "56kbps" as the maximum stream bitrate. The faster your connection, the more stations you will be able to listen to, and at better quality.

You will also need a media player to listen to online radio. The most popular are Windows Media Player, Real Player, and Winamp. You will be restricted to which ever software you have downloaded, so if you'd like to listen to lots of online radio, we'd recommend that you install them all.
